SUNRAYS Summer Reading Extravaganza – Week 14
t’s week 14 of SUNRAYS Summer Reading Extravaganza! Every week this summer we will be highlighting a children’s book that can help kids learn about composting, recycling, and other sustainable habits!
We are partnering with Save the Children’s Make Summer Fair campaign to raise awareness on the “summer slide” – when children lose up to two months of what they learned the year before. Check in with us every Monday this summer for our reading recommendations to help keep children engaged and learning all summer long!
This week we are highlighting The Simple Science of Dirt by Emily James. In this book, readers will learn the answers to questions like “What is dirt made of? What is its purpose?” and more through easy-to-read text and vivid photopraphs. An experiment rounds out the book and provides a hands-on learning experience to encourage deeper understanding!
