WHAT OUR GROWERS ARE SAYING

FROM PIURA, PERU:

“The harvest on Jack Salute started last week, with Sweet Globes, Ivory and Sweet Celebration starting up this week. Much of this volume will be destined for the European market.  Green and black seedless varieties are on time, and reds are about one week delayed.  However, temperatures are beginning to warm up which will speed up the timing of certain varieties.” – Ecosac Agricola

FROM AREQUIPA, PERU:

“The growing conditions in Arequipa are more stable than previous seasons, as illustrated by the graph below” – Agricola Pampa Baja

FROM ICA, PERU:

“Timing is normal to slightly delayed. Labor is currently thinning bunches to manage condition and to improve sizing. Red seedless varieties are progressing well with sizes projected to reach levels above normal. On greens, the focus is on managing bunch distribution to have the proper amount of shade to avoid sunburn.” – Agricola Miranda
