OUR OUTLOOK

Peruvian volumes are winding down, with just about all growers basically finished with their harvest. Movement has slowed down some with fewer retailer promotions in place. The first Chilean “storage” Thompson with the first arrivals due in mid-March. Storage Thompson volumes are expected to be down by 60-70%. Market supplies will tighten considerably by the later half of March.

OUR OUTLOOK

Estimated losses on the remaining Chilean red seedless are wide ranging, with losses estimated to be 30% or more globally. Peru continues to be a presence in the marketplace, but exports from Peru are mostly finished at this point. There are promotable volumes of red seedless between source countries available in the market for the next few weeks, but we expect to see a gradual tightening in the supply of reds by very late March or early April.
