FROM AREQUIPA, PERU:
“The Ivory variety is doing very well, mostly jumbo size. Allisons are still taking color. Crimson Seedless continue to grow but are doing well.” – Agricola Pampa Baja
FROM ICA, PERU:
“For Crimson, this variety is finishing taking color. We have begun with the harvest of the bunches that are finished. For Sugraone, harvesting is complete. A size of 23mm was achieved with an average brix of 15.5.” – Agricola Miranda

FROM ATACAMA, CHILE:
“We are packing our black seedless grapes. Berry size is 17.5 to 20mm and brix 17 to 20.” – Exportadora Quintay

FROM VALPARAISO, CHILE:
“We are in plenty harvest of ARRA 29 and waiting the finishing maturity of Star Fire seedless. We project to harvest Star Fire on January 25th. THe quality is very good expecting a size 19mm to 22mm in ARRA 29 (Passion Fire) and 18mm to 20mm on Star Fire seedless. Conditions of these grapes are perfect mostly because of the dry, sunny weather conditions over the last 4 months. The quality of the Thompsons and ARRA 15 varieties are very good. We are expecting over 18mm in Thompson with the best size over 20mm. The brix level on Thompsons right now is around 15, we expect to have over 18 brix in February. For ARRA 15 we have right now 18mm but expecting over 20mm with the best crop over 22mm. The brix level is expected to be mostly at 18. The condition of these varieties have also been very strong thanks to the good weather for the last 4 months.” – Gioia

FROM METROPOLITANA, CHILE:
“The Thompsons are sizing 16mm to 22mm. We should start harvesting in 2 more weeks.” – Moba

OUR OUTLOOK
Global arrivals of proprietary and traditional greens should increase over the next couple of weeks, and availability of SUNRAYS® should improve along with it. Our strict lot selection of fruit at source has reduced the quantity of SUNRAYS® packed greens in recent weeks. However, Peruvian growers in the South are shipping proprietary greens packed in SUNRAYS® this week, and Chilean growers will begin packing SUNRAYS® green seedless in the North this week as well. Looking at the industry as a whole, there will be enough global supply to promote green seedless throughout February. In fact, single color green ads are encouraged for the first half of February.

OUR OUTLOOK
The red seedless market continues steady recently, and we expect that trend to continue at least for the next 3-4 weeks. SUNRAYS®, as well as non-SUNRAYS®, should be promotable for Valentine’s Day, although the second half of February should see heavier volumes.
